West Acton becomes an Eco School
On Wednesday 2nd June, during half term, we had a very special guest at our school. Sadiq Khan, Mayor of London, met the Eco-Committee . Sadiq Khan also saw some solar panels being installed on our Windsor Hall Building (above the Woodlands) in addition to those on the Year 2/4 building and on the PE Hall roof.
Shortly after this event, we earned our Eco-Schools Green Flag for all the work we have done at West Acton Primary School. It has arrived! It will be hung above the Victoria Hall (or Old Hall) entrance from the car park by the Nursery, Field and School Gates.
We hold events to raise awareness throughout the year. West Acton School promoted a healthier and sustainable means of travelling to and from school during Walk to School Week. ‘Shoesday’ is an initiative for children, parents/carers and teachers to wear their favourite shoes to school. It was enjoyed by all.
