Reception Teacher

Not suitable for ECTS

Start TBC or September 2025

Thank you for considering West Acton Primary School for the next step in your career. West Acton Primary School is a multicultural, diverse three form entry primary school with an Additionally Resourced Provision (ARP) for children with ASD/Social Communication Difficulties.

We have had a successful OFSTED in February 2023 and are embarking on a dedicated Digital Strategy across the school,  so it is an exciting time to join West Acton and be part of our next chapter. We have dynamic, committed teachers who are passionate about improving the education of children at our school.

This year we are looking someone to join our team as a Reception Teacher. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the pedagogy of our Reception right at the start of the children’s school life. The candidate should have a good understanding of the expectations of the EYFS framework, OFSTED, safeguarding, assessment (we use online Tapestry Journals) and phonics (we are a Little Wandle school) to name just a few areas. As a Reception teacher you will need to be ready to inspire, motivate a class of thirty pupils many of whom will be new to English or school life; some will have additional SEND needs.

UPS teachers will be considered however, they must be able to fulfil the school’s policy of being role model practitioners and making a sustained and substantial contribution to the school.  Currently our UPS teachers lead a subject, an ongoing project or a whole school development area. If you are a UPS teacher please include separate information about this in your application statement. This is not a post for ECTS and previous applicants need not apply.

Visits to the school are greatly encouraged; if you would like to arrange please email hr@west-acton.ealing.sch.uk

Please email all completed applications to hr@west-acton.ealing.sch.uk The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and the successful applicant will be required to apply for an enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
