Microsoft Showcase Schools are part of a global community of schools that have embraced digital transformation to enhance teaching and learning experiences. These schools employ Microsoft’s Education Transformation Framework to foster a culture of learning, innovation, and continuous improvement. With fewer than 100 schools in the United Kingdom achieving this prestigious status.

At West Acton Primary School, we are committed to equipping every child with the tools they need to thrive in a modern, digital world. Technology plays a central role in our vision for personalised learning, fostering collaboration, and ensuring equity across the school.

From Year 3 onward, each pupil is provided with their own device, which they take with them throughout their primary education journey.

West Acton Microsoft Showcase Day 2026

Our Microsoft Showcase School Day was an inspiring and insightful experience, highlighting how technology is transforming teaching and learning across our school. Throughout the day, visitors had the opportunity to hear from senior leaders, pupils, and the headteacher, all of whom shared powerful perspectives on the positive impact of our digital journey.

Leaders spoke about the strategic vision behind embedding Microsoft tools into everyday practice, explaining how it has enhanced collaboration, improved accessibility, and supported more personalised learning for every student. The Headteacher reflected on the broader impact on school culture, emphasising how technology has not only raised engagement and achievement but also prepared pupils with essential skills for the future.

One of the most impactful parts of the day was hearing directly from pupils. They confidently demonstrated how they use technology in their lessons, showcasing tools such as collaborative documents, digital notebooks, and interactive platforms. Their enthusiasm and independence highlighted how technology has empowered them to take ownership of their learning, work more creatively, and communicate more effectively.

Visitors were able to see firsthand how technology is seamlessly integrated into everyday teaching. Lessons were engaging, inclusive, and dynamic, with pupils actively participating and using digital tools to deepen their understanding. It was clear that technology is not just an add-on, but a meaningful part of the learning experience.
